چکیده
Numerous factors affect the soil pressure distributions around buried pipes, including shape, size, and stiffness of pipe, burial depth, surrounding soil. Additionally, to some extent, a pipe can benefit from arching effect, where overburden surcharge at crown be supported by adjacent As result, only needs support portion load that is not transferred This paper presents numerical investigations concrete pipes crack propagation under different environmental conditions, such as loading, saturation level, presence voids. To this end, nonlinear elastoplastic model for backfill materials was implemented using finite element software user-defined subroutine. Three two native soils were selected examine material-specific behaviors propagation. For each material, effects loading type, groundwater, voids investigated. These simulation results provide helpful information regarding redistribution behavior various conditions.

A two dimensional Simulation of crack propagation using Adaptive Finite Element Analysis
Finite element method (FEM) is one of the most famous methods which has many applications in varies studies such as the study of crack propagation in engineering structures. However, unless extremely fine meshes are employed, problem arises in accurately modelling the singular stress field in the singular element area around the crack tip. In the present study, the crack growth simulation has b...
متن کاملFinite Element Analysis of Pipe Buried in Saturated Soil Deposit Subject to Earthquake Loading
A coupled stress-flow finite element procedure, based on dynamic Biot equations, was used to analyze the behavior of pipe buried in liquefiable soil. The governing equations, soil constitutive model, finite element discretization and solutions were described. The results of analysis were compared with two cases of dynamic centrifuge test of soil deposit and pipe conducted at 30-g acceleration f...
متن کاملEvaluation of Disc Cutter Performance in Rock Cutting Process Using 3D Finite Element Method
Today, numerical simulation can be used as a suitable tool to measure large quantities that are very expensive and, in some cases, impossible to measure. One of the important issues in predicting rock mass boreability in excavation with full face tunnel boring machines is estimating the discchr('39')s forces for rock cutting. For this purpose, the linear cutting test is employed. However, limi...

Two regional finite element (FE) models of a buried glass-fiber reinforced composite pipe have been developed at the National University of Singapore (NUS). The model replicates an arbitrary site whereby fuel is being transported through the 400 mm diameter line, and comprises of multiple components such as the valve pit, 45 degrees and 90 degrees pipe bends, and a service road consisting of th...

ABSTRACT-This paper aims to develop a new design of a bentleg (BL) plow and to determine its performance as compared to the conventional one using finite element approach. The difference between the modified and conventional BL plows is the direction of angle between the projection of cutting blade on horizontal plane normal to plow shank and the line perpendicular to the plow shank in the same...
